Frequently Asked Questions

What are your worship service times?

Sunday Liturgy is 10 am once a month....generally the first Sunday of the month.

Exception would be this July. Liturgy is set for Sunday, July 12.

Our Liturgies are a bit more casual of late....more like a "home mass" and are held at the Carmel Residence Patio Lounge at 220 N. Westfield St, Oshkosh.

We usually enjoy fellowship afterwards with a potluck bunch and end by noon.

All are welcome!  For more information, please feel free to reach out to our pastor, Rev Mimi at : pastor.emmausecc@gmail.com

What is "Ecumenical Catholic"?

As published in our Ecumenical Catholic Communion website:

We are members of the Body of Christ and join together by the name, “Ecumenical Catholic Communion” or “ECC” or “Communion.” We recall the words of the second century Church father, St. Ignatius of Antioch, when referring to the Church: We are a “communion of communities” joined together by the Spirit to form a household of faith.

We serve the poor, the outcast, the sick, the disabled, the old, the young, and the imprisoned. We offer a refuge in Christ for those who suffer prejudice because of race, color, culture, philosophy, gender, sexual orientation, or educational deprivation. We conform our lives to the life and teaching of our Lord Jesus Christ through prayer and study, service, and the celebration of the liturgy and the sacraments. We do as Christ commanded, “Love one another as I have loved you.”

We profess our faith in Christ in the living Catholic Tradition handed to us from the Apostles through many generations. And we stand open to a dialogue with those of other religious identities and faith traditions.

All are welcome.

How can Ecumenical Catholics still be Catholic if they aren't in communion with Rome?

Although the Roman Church is the largest Catholic Church in the West, there are many forms or rites of Catholicism: Chaldean, Melikite, Aspostolic, Reform Catholic, Old Catholic, Byzantine, etc.  Some are in communion with Rome and some are not, but are still Catholic. Also part of the Universal Church is our Orthodox and Coptic siblings.  Catholicism is rich in diversity and varried traditions!

One of the features of the Ecumenical Catholic Communion (ECC) is our desire to welcome all to the table and to build bridges of ecumenical friendships with our siblings of other denominations and faith traditions for we are ALL ONE BODY, IN THE  BODY OF CHRIST.
